Stephanie Hoppen Gallery is pleased to show in December 2009 some recent works by the South African based artist Kevin Collins.
He describes his work as "The quiet moment as the pale light of day break falling on familiar domestic objects brings a comfort to the pace of my life. It's more than people, it's the spaces between which allows reflection and makes relationships with people more important".
His most recent works reflect remembered stories from the childhood. Those memories intersect with the quirky current day-dreams which allow him to escape realities.
Born in Pretoria, he studied Fine Art in Cape Town with a major in painting. he has exhibited in numerous group exhibitions and a successful one person show in 2004. His work is in a number of private, corporate and Universities collections around the world.
