James A Holdsworth

British Artist James Holdsworth is influenced by everything from El Greco, Stella Vine to comics,Keith Harring, Banksy, Willem de Kooning, Albert Camus, Nirvana, Talking Heads, Sex Pistols.

He paints iconographic characters with a dark, painterly, pessimistic, sad and humorous stormy beauty- seeing the harmony in the discord. Each unique picture is constructed using a layering technique of collage, paints, glitters and varnish.

As a famous cartoon character once said..."don't take life too seriously folks- you'll never get out of it alive."
